Some things we do here

Teaching piano to youth here:
On Sunday afternoon we go with some other Senior Missionaries to a ward about 30 min drive from here.  There are usually about 25 youth ages 8 to 20 and they stand around 6 keyboards (about 4 per key board) and wait to have 5- 10 minutes to take their turn at the keyboard.

It is an all tile room and the nose is crazy, but the youth are so happy, enthusiastic and eager to learn.  It is really delightful to be with them and teach them.

One 10 year old boy was learning very quickly and I was able to teach him Jingle bells with 3 chords on his left hand and melody on the right hand in about 10 minutes.

These youth have no way to practice during the week, they eagerly wait for Sunday.
They are very poor as to material things and of course they do not have a keyboard at home.

Parents, I hope you will share this story with in your children and we can each remind ourselves:  We have so many opportunities that most people in the world do not have and perhaps we can appreciate and take better advantage of all great possibilities for learning and growth.
Inspiring friends:
President Hugo Martinez is in the The  Area Presidency here.  He is our ecclesiastical leader.  We have Quarterly interviews with him.  We just had our second one and it will be our last with him as we has  a new assignment to come to SLC.  He will work in the Priesthood/family department and will .work with  BRYCE and other great people Like PAUL Murphy who also works in that department.
We have been a blessing to get to know him and his wife.  President Martinez has great love for each individual and you can feel that in his presence.

Temple Blessings
I absolutely love working in the temple. Dad and I both worked Tuesday morning and we went
Again on Thursday Morning and they needed our help. ...so wonderful.   It is a great privilege  to serve there.
Oh I love the words and the teachings and the spirit we experience there. Two ladies from Germany were here  on vacation. They saw dad and I in the temple and were so happy we spoke English.  They knew a  little English, more than Spanish.  It was a blessing to feel their love and  gratitude to be in the temple.

Missions are Marvelous

Serving a mission with my husband as Senior Missionaries is a great privilege and  blessing.
